2021 RAM 1500 TRX

The 2021 RAM 1500 TRX doesn’t mess around. It has a supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8, better known as the Hellcat. It pumps out an insane 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. With the 8-speed automatic transmission and the launch control engaged, the 2021 RAM 1500 TRX will 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds and 0-100 mph in 10.5 seconds. It does a quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 108 mph. Top speed is electronically limited at 118 mph. Paired with Bilstein® shocks and an eight-mode on-the-fly drive selector, the 2021 RAM 1500 TRX makes sure none of that power is lost, no matter the terrain.

How Good is it Compared to the Competition?

The TRX is a power play aimed at dethroning the performance-focused Ford F-150 Raptor. The TRX succeeds. The F-150 Raptor has a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 that only puts out 450 horses and 510 lb-ft of torque. The TRX completely demolishes those numbers. Ford has teased the possibility of the new F-150 Raptor getting the supercharged 5.2L V8 from the Mustang, but nothing has been confirmed. The Hellcat HEMI has overpowered that Mustang engine elsewhere in the Dodge lineup, so we expect it will do so again in the TRX versus Raptor showdown.
